Fire-safety of movable walls

Fire ratings are always stipulated by local authorities. General ratings can be divided as follows:

-         No fire-rating but fire-retardancy required. Objects with no proper fire-protection but the construction must not add fire load in the space. Many conference rooms are examples of this case.

-         Fire-rate 30 minutes. Objects where movable walls form one side or both sides of the exit.

-         Fire-rate 60 minutes. E.g. objects where the movable wall divides fire areas.

Fire-rating restricts the choice of panel construction.
